New Brazilian plug design

The Brazil Agency for Technical Norms, in conjunction with INMETRO, have declared as of January 2010, all plugs for electrical equipments manufactured or imported into Brazil must be of a new format. The design will be of 3 pins, with the middle pin slightly out of line with the outer two. They will use this format regardless of the voltage utilized in a particular region. The goal of the Brazilian agencies is to have all the home receptacles in the nation changed out to the new format by 2011.
